Hexham Whites lifted their 2nd silverware of the season the Tynedale & District 5-A-Side Cup on Sunday at Wentworth Leisure Centre.
They entered two teams; Hexham Whites Town were unlucky to lose 1-0 to Stocksfield in the semi final of the plate.
Hexham White United eased into the final top of their group. Beating Prudhoe in the semis.
With a fantastic display of football they brushed aside Corbridge in the final 3-1 with two goals from Logan Fawcett and one from Calum Armstrong.
Two of our junior members had the opportunity of being ball boys at the Newcastle – West Brom game last night.
Word from the NABC & NUFC was that
‘the two lads you sent down were very polite and ‘very lovely kids’ and did a great job’
Well done lads you were a credit to the club
An meeting was held by the Pin point football leagues on December 14th at the RBL Blakelaw and our secretary Gwyneth Scott attended to represent the club. The main point of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of next year’s under 11 league moving to the 9 a side format. This was not formally passed but in a straw poll taken on the night it would gain a positive vote at a meeting yet to be arranged in January 2012. Representatives from the FA were at the meeting to give guidance as this will become mandatory the season following. Matches can take place on a junior pitch with some possible slight adjustments. The FA has plans to talk to other leagues but as yet no definite information from the NEYDL
Hexham u14’s are presently playing in Division One of the Pinpoint Recruitment junior football leagues and are doing very well in fifth place. To maintain this they need to recruit some more players so if you are or know anyone who was under 14 on Sept 1st 2011 and would like to come to training to see if they like it please contact

The Club had an exceptional night at the 2011 Tynedale Sports council awards which was held at the Tynedale Function suite. The event was sponsored by TVI Commercial Insurance Brokers and was well attended by sports people from across the region comprising of all ages and from many sports.
The awards were presented by ex Northants, Durham and England cricketer Geoff Cook; the club were delighted to have representatives in a number of categories.
It is with great pleasure that I let you know that our very own Doug Robson won the Sports Personality Award, he also received the Tynedale Trophy which is given to only one of the individual category winners – a sort of ‘Award of Awards’. Many congratulations go to Doug from us all, and also thanks to Jon Armstrong for submitting that nomination.
We also as a club came away with certificates of merit in several other categories:-
Young player of the year – boy - Ryan Gardner
Coach of the year – Joe Speed
Club of the year – Hexham Football Club
Young sports leader – James Dunn
Youth team of the year – U13s Boys
Well done to all.
Northants, Durham & England
It was a fantastic day for the members of Hexham Football Club on Saturday (26th Nov 11) when their brand new football centre was opened. This facility has been in the planning stage for what seems like ages but to see the finished article it was well worth the wait.
The centre comprises of 2 junior pitches a floodlit training area with a club meeting room and kitchen with changing facilities for players and match officials. The final cost of the development was a mind boggling £872,000 which was found by a massive donation from the Football Foundation and also a large sum from Northumberland County Council. The club managed to raise £30,000 and with help from local companies and councillors the final total was achieved.
The opening ceremony was performed by Ex England international Paul Bracewell who had an audience of representatives from all the donating companies that were available local councillors, County and club officials and some players who were not on match duty
The day was opened by Councillors Neil Bradbury and Derek Kennedy who spoke on behalf of the County who intern Club Officials Jon Armstrong and Doug Robson replied on behalf of the Football Club. It was a day of thanks to all concerned over the years this has been in progress but it was agreed that this was a superb facility and well worth the effort.
After Paul unveiled the plaque some official photos were taken in and outside of the building where some of the juniors got the chance to display their talents. After that is was back inside and Paul was collard by the players for autographs and a question and answer session on his long and distinguished career.
A truly memorable day for the club and the town and the club would like to thank everyone involved to assure them it is very much required and appreciated.
