U14 West Division Cup Final (10th April 2010-11)
This year’s West Division under 14 Cup final was held at Stocksfield between old rivals Prudhoe and Hexham. Hexham started well and leading scorer this season Ben Rodgers kept up his run to hit the back of the net after fourteen minutes with a great strike. Minutes later Rodgers increased the lead with a delicate chip over the Prudhoe keeper. A defensive slip up ten minutes before the break let Prudhoe back into the final to set up a cracking second half. Both teams did not disappoint with an end to end encounter with Prudhoe’s need the greater they pushed hard for an equaliser but the Hexham defenders were in no mood to let another goal go past them. The deciding goal only came with literally seconds left on the clock when Ben Rodgers completed his hat trick by taking on four defenders before stroking it home and the cup was on its way to Hexham.
